From an idea to a plan you can discuss.

  1. Describe your idea

A website, an app, a business tool—or something you are still figuring out. Your own words are enough to start.

  2. Take it one question at a time

Questions adapt to your project. Clear choices and helpful examples make it easy, even if you have never planned software before.

  3. See your budget. Keep the details.

Review the estimate and your answers. When you are ready, send a detailed project brief to our team so we can confirm the scope together.

What affects the cost of your idea?

Digital Shift estimates websites, mobile apps, custom software and business automation from the work your project needs. Start with the result you want; you do not need to choose a technology.

Website development

A company website with a contact form needs a different budget from a store with payments, delivery rules and stock updates. The main cost drivers are page types, design, content, languages and connections to your existing tools.

Mobile app development

The main cost drivers are iPhone and Android coverage, accounts, bookings, payments, notifications and offline use. An app also often needs a place for your team to manage its content and customers. Start with what people must be able to do in the first version.

Custom software & programming

A customer portal or internal system depends on who uses it, their permissions, approval rules, reports and connections to existing software. Moving old data and handling exceptions can require as much planning as the main screens.

Business automation

An automation budget depends on the steps, connected tools, volume of work and review rules. Describe what starts the task and what should happen when information is missing or a connection fails. Tool subscriptions and usage charges are separate from development.

A little preparation goes a long way.

You can start with an idea in your own words. If you have them, these details make your estimate and project brief more useful.

  • Who will use it and what they need to achieve
  • One real example, from the first step to the final result
  • What must be ready for launch and what can wait
  • Existing tools, content or data that need to be connected or moved
  • Your preferred launch date, budget and any special requirements

Unsure about something? Say so. Open decisions are recorded for our team to clarify with you.

About your estimate

Know what the price means.

How do I get an instant project estimate?

Choose your project type and describe your idea in everyday language. A guided flow asks one question at a time and adapts the questions to your project. You can view the estimate without an account, payment or contact details.

Which currency will I see?

Where location and exchange-rate information are available, your estimate appears in the currency of your detected country, with the US dollar amount underneath. You can change the currency. Local amounts are approximate conversions, not a separate quote; if conversion is unavailable, the estimate is shown in USD.

Can I estimate an automation or a programming project?

Yes. Choose “Software, automation or other” and describe the task or system you need. Include the tools you use now and what you want to happen automatically. You can also choose this option if you need help deciding what to build.

What is included, and what costs extra?

The estimate covers understanding your idea, design, development, testing and launch based on your answers. Taxes, hosting, paid services, content creation and ongoing maintenance are separate. A shorter deadline can increase the estimate.

Is the estimate a final quote?

It is a starting budget, not a fixed offer. Your answers help identify the likely scope, assumptions and open decisions. Our team reviews these with you and confirms the scope, price and delivery date before you commit.

What happens after I see the price?

You can review your answers and send your project to our team when you are ready. Your submitted request is saved with a detailed project brief, your answers and the estimate, and the brief is sent to our team by email. You receive a reference for the request. No payment is required.

Can my project brief become part of the contract?

The brief is a starting record of your requirements, priorities, assumptions and points to clarify. We review it with you before agreeing on deliverables, acceptance criteria, exclusions, price and dates. It becomes part of the contract only when both sides explicitly agree to include the reviewed version.

Let’s put a budget around your idea.
