Who we are and what this policy covers
DIGITAL SHIFT LLC, based in New Mexico, United States, operates this website. This policy covers information handled through our website, enquiry forms, instant estimate service and related communications. You can contact us about privacy at [email protected].
Project services and client accounts may involve additional information and contractual obligations. Where we handle information on a client’s behalf, the relevant service agreement and the client’s instructions also apply.
Information we collect
You provide information when you contact us: your name, email address, company if supplied, selected service and message. For an estimate, we collect your project type, preferred language, description, answers and resulting estimate. If you ask for follow-up, we also collect your name, email address, phone number and confirmation that we may contact you about the project.
We keep relevant correspondence and request references. Site operation and abuse prevention can involve connection information, request times, browser details and a protected identifier derived from your network address. Required fields are indicated in each form; without them we may be unable to process your request.
Why we use information
We use information to answer enquiries, understand your needs, prepare questions and indicative estimates, arrange project discussions, send requested confirmations and manage our relationship with you. We also use information to maintain the service, investigate misuse, resolve disputes and meet applicable legal obligations.
Depending on the purpose and applicable law, processing relies on your consent, steps you request before a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligations, or legitimate interests in operating and protecting our business where that basis is permitted. A project enquiry is not blanket consent to unrelated promotional messages.
Website and tool analytics
We measure public page visits and completed tool actions to understand what is useful. These records contain a random visit identifier, the public page path, tool identifier, time, referring website hostname, device group, and country when supplied by our trusted hosting network. We do not include tool inputs, file contents, contact details, URL queries, or raw IP addresses in these activity records. A visit identifier is stored in your browser tab and renewed after 30 minutes of inactivity. Records are eligible for deletion after 90 days through scheduled cleanup. You can turn this measurement off using the control below; browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control preferences are also respected.
Instant estimates and optional voice input
For the estimate form, we record a random visit identifier, country supplied by our trusted network provider, language, project type, progress, answer counts and visit times. We also record grouped device, browser and traffic source, question categories and selected option numbers, active time, navigation, request errors, the names (never values) of contact fields used, estimate price bands and currency, and optional feedback reasons. This helps us understand completion and abandonment. The activity report does not store raw IP addresses, typed project text, full URLs or unfinished contact values. A visit identifier is kept in session storage for up to two hours; activity records are eligible for deletion after 90 days by scheduled cleanup. A submitted visit can be linked to the resulting enquiry.
To prepare tailored questions, we share your project description, type and language with a service provider that processes the brief automatically. Contact details entered at the later follow-up step are not included in that question-generation request. Anything you include in the description itself is shared, so please leave out passwords, payment details and sensitive personal or confidential information.
We also keep a separate, private project-answer record from the time your questions are prepared: the idea you send, project type, selected starting point and capabilities, question and option text, selected and unanswered choices, submitted written details, language, available country and estimate/submission times. Choices are saved as you go, including incomplete journeys. This record helps prepare your estimate and identify useful website pages and guides. Content-planning reports contain grouped needs and counts; they do not include your project text, contact details or session secrets. The record is retained separately when a short-lived estimate session expires and is eligible for deletion after 365 days through scheduled cleanup.
We store your answers and estimate. When you submit a follow-up request, we record your contact details and send the request to our team and a confirmation to you through our communications service providers. Estimates are indicative and subject to human review before a service agreement.
Voice input is optional and requires microphone permission. Your browser’s voice service may process audio under its own privacy terms. This website receives the text you review and submit, and does not store the audio recording. You can type instead.
International handling of information
We operate from the United States. Our team and service providers may handle information in the United States and other countries, which may have different privacy laws from your country. Cross-border handling remains subject to applicable legal requirements, including safeguards or other lawful transfer arrangements where required. Contact us to ask about the arrangements relevant to your information.
How long information is kept
Incomplete estimate sessions expire after two hours; expired, unsubmitted sessions are eligible for removal by the cleanup process. The separate project-answer record described above is eligible for deletion after 365 days. Expiry does not mean that every stored copy is immediately erased.
Submitted enquiries, correspondence and project records are kept for as long as needed to follow up, manage an ongoing relationship or meet applicable accounting, legal and dispute-resolution requirements. Retention depends on the nature of the record and purpose rather than one period for all information. You may request deletion; some records may need to be retained where law permits or requires it.
Protecting your information
We use access restrictions and measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, misuse and loss. No website, transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending secrets or unnecessary sensitive information through public forms. If a breach triggers a legal notification duty, we will notify the relevant parties as required by applicable law.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request information about our processing, access to or a copy of your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability. You may also have a right to object to certain processing and withdraw consent where processing is based on it. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Send requests to [email protected], describing your request and the contact details used with us. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any lawful limits on fulfilling the request. You may also complain to the data protection authority with jurisdiction over your situation.
Children and information about other people
This website is intended for people seeking business services, not for children. Please do not submit personal information about children through our public forms. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and address it. Only share another person’s information if you are authorised to do so.
Other websites and policy updates
Links to other websites lead to services with their own privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information. We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. The date shown on this page identifies the current version; we will provide additional notice where required by law.
